ABOUT THE DOCUMENT: The scene is from the shooting of the film "SINDA" in Cameroon in 1960. Jan Dalland, at the time director of the Film-division of the Norwegian Mission Society, and the Stavanger-based photographer Olaf A. Ellingsen, had been sent on an expedition to create films and take documentary photographs from the NMS mission work in the Adamaoua province. NMS began work there in 1925. We do not have information about the names of the persons being filmed. Solveig Bjøru is holding the umbrella over Ellingsen, and Jan Dalland is instructing the scene. The man to the right is probably John Fosse. The film "SINDA" is currently being digitized in England, as a part of a joint project involving the University of Norwich, the University of Stavanger and the Mission Archives.
