About the creator: We recently discovered that the photo was taken by Per Arne Aasen (b. 1921). He served as ordained missionary for NMS in Cameroon 1947-1962 and 1969-1970. Among the places he worked in are Tibati, Bankim district and at the bible school and seminary in Meng. From 1941-1946 he received his theological training at the School of Mission and Theology. During the years 1964-1969 and from 1971 until his retirement he served as parish pastor in the Church of Norway. In the Mission Archives there is no separate collection from Aasen. He is, however, represented with more than 150 photos in the project collection "Cameroon - Adamaoua". This project, which was completed in the year 2000, is a selection of ca. two thousand photos with metadata in French. These photos were selected from a comprehensive amount of about 20.000 photos from Cameroon, and the majority of these is available in the Mission Archives.
