First doctoral disputation at the School of Mission and Theology
Cand. theol. Arne Redse holds his two lectures for the Ph.D.-degree at the School of Mission and Theology on Friday 5th of May:

Epistemological basis in interfaith dialogues – an often neglected issue?At 6 p.m. on a topic set by the committee:
Freedom of religion, religious tolerance and the future of Christian mission in light of Samuel P. Huntington's thesis on the clash of civilisations and the remaking of the world order.
Saturday 6th of May 2006 at 10 a.m.: Public defence for the Ph.D.-degree at the School of Mission and Theology of the thesis:
"By grace alone" in contexts of "self-cultivation" : an attempt at contextualizing the Lutheran doctrine of justification to Chinese contexts as influenced by new Confucianism. (See summary. The book itself available via BIBSYS.)

Associate Professor Th.D. Knut Alfsvåg, School of Mission and Theology, is the third member in the adjudication committee and has been its coordinator.
The trial lectures and the defence will be held in the Aula at the School of Mission and Theology, Misjonsveien 34, Stavanger.
Retor Knut Holter will preside at the defence.
The studies at MHS have been very useful. In my present job at the Police office in Stavanger I daily meet people from different parts of the world. I took both a bachelor and a master degree at MHS. I feel that my background has helped me a lot in my job in the Police.
