Dr. Karl Ludvig Reichelt Memorial Lectures and Study Day, Dec. 3, 2008
This is to announce that the annual Dr. Karl Ludvig Reichelt Memorial Lectures and Study Day of the School of Mission and Theology will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2008.
The venue of the Study Day (0830-1100) is Room 224.
The venue of the Memorial Lectures (1200-1530) is the MHS Aula.
Dr. Karl Ludvig Reichelt is one of the most famous alumni of the School of Mission and Theology. He worked as a missionary to China from 1903-1952, where he taught in the Lutheran Theological Seminary and became famous for his work among Buddhists, in that he established a special ministry to the learned Buddhists and monks in China. He was controversial but left a lasting contribution to students of missiology, theology, history of religion, and sinology.
This year the Memorial Lectures and Study Day will be linked up with the public trial lectures and public defence of the Ph D thesis of Assistant Professor and Ph D Candidate in Missiology, Ms Kari Storstein Haug, December 3-4.

The studies at MHS have been very useful. In my present job at the Police office in Stavanger I daily meet people from different parts of the world. I took both a bachelor and a master degree at MHS. I feel that my background has helped me a lot in my job in the Police.
