Cabinet minister visits MHS to celebrate accreditation

Tora Aasland, Cabinet Minister of Research and Higher Education, visited the MHS School of Mission and Theology Monday 18. August, as part of a program celebrating the accreditation of MHS as a specialized university.

In her greeting, the Minister congratulated the MHS for the efforts leading to an accreditation as a specialized university.

- It is remarkable, she said, that such a small institution is able to meet the demanding requirements for being accredited as a specialized university.

She also noticed that the MHS has managed to combine Mission Studies with a theological education preparing for service both locally and globally.

- This means, she said, that you have a very valuable competence in Culture Studies and Intercultural Communication.

The studies at MHS have been very useful. In my present job at the Police office in Stavanger I daily meet people from different parts of the world. I took both a bachelor and a master degree at MHS. I feel that my background has helped me a lot in my job in the Police.
