The 150th anniversary of the Faculty of Theology, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, is celebrated with a joint conference of a number of academic societies in the field of religion and theology, 22-26 June 2009.

Hokma House - Centre for Biblical Research, Jos, Nigeria, has launched a new journal on biblical research and interpretation in Africa: Sapientia Logos.

The Old Testament Society of South Africa celebrates its 50th birthday as a combined annual congress eith the Old Testament Societty of the Netherlands and Belgium.

The congress takes place at the campus of the University of Pretoria, 22-24 August. More information will follow.

The congress theme is "Exile and suffering", and paper abstracts of no more than 250 words may be forwarded to Professor Dirk Human: dirk.human@up.ac.za
