Self-financing applicants from outside the EU/EEA area must document that they can finance their studies at School of Mission and Theology. The Norwegian Immigration Authorities requires that you can provide a minimum of NOK 85 000 (apprx. 10 600 euro). This is the minimum amount of money required to cover living expenses for one academic year in Norway and should be documented by enclosing a recent bank transcript. It is critical that you prove your financial means when you submit your application to the School of Mission and Theology.
If you will be using a non-Norwegian sponsor the School of Mission and Theology will ask for a letter included in the application form from the sponsor(s) that says the sonsor(s) is willing to transfer NOK 85 000 if you are admitted.
When admitted you must immediately transfer NOK 85 000 to a Norwegian account in order to have your visa application processed by the Immigration Authorities.
If you do not have a Norwegian bank account you may use a personal deposit account at the School of Mission and Theology. The money will safely be returned to you after you have arrived and gone through the process of having opened a bank account in Norway.
More details about this will be given in the admission letters and upon arrival at the School of Mission and Theology.
