The Mission Archives, located at the School of Mission and Theology (MHS) in the city of Stavanger, Norway, has a unique collection related to the history of Christan mission. In addition to records related to the Norwegian Missionary Society (NMS), founded in 1842, we also have material from other organizations and individuals. For the benefit of an international community the main language of this website is English, but some items will also be presented in Norwegian and French.

A newly released book about cultures of the Indian Ocean

For his new book "Dhow Cultures and the Indian Ocean: Cosmopolitanism, Commerce, and Islam" the author, Abdul Sherrif, requested an illustration of sorabe from the collection of the Mission Archives.

Møte med kulturministeren

Tirsdag 16. februar var kulturminister Anniken Huitfeldt på besøk i Stavanger for å få et bredt inntrykk av kulturlivet her i regionen. Misjonsarkivet var blant de mange kulturinstitusjonene i Rogaland som var invitert til en samling på Rogaland Teater fra kl. 1100-1300.
