Peder Eilert Nilsen-Lund (1842-1914) was a missionary in Madagascar from 1874-1897. The Norwegian Mission Society published two booklets authored by Nilsen-Lund.
The first issue of Norsk Misjonstidende in 1945 was not published until 17 May, i.e. nine days after the end of the Second World War in Norway. We have scanned this issue and produced searchable text with OCR.

In his capacity as "Secretary" (i.e. at the time the highest ranking administrator in the Norwegian Mission Society, NMS) Ole Ohnstad Jensen Gjerløw (1845-1924) made an inspection visit to the mission field in South Africa in 1887-1888. His report, signed 5 April 1888, was printed and published, most likely by NMS in Stavanger the same year. It has the following title:
"Beretning vedkommende Sekretærens Reise til Missionsmarken i Zululand og Natal 1887-1888."
At the Mission Archives we have three copies of the report, and one of them belonged to Lars Dahle, who signed his copy in the upper right corner of the front cover. He has also written several remarks on selected pages. This version of the report was used by Kristin Fjelde Tjelle in her preparation of her PhD thesis "Missionary masculinity : the case of the Norwegian Lutheran missionaries to the Zulus, 1870-1930", Stavanger, 2011.
The document is a part of the collection from the main office of the NMS, with catalog reference MHS/A-1045/Da/L0182-14.
We have now scanned Tor Dag Kjosavik's chapter about Etiopia in volume 2 of "I tro og tjeneste - Det Norske Misjonsselskap 1842-1992", edited by Torstein Jørgensen and published in 1992 by the School of Mission and Theology.
We have scanned to PDF the second annual report of the Norwegian Mission Society, published in Stavanger in 1844.
Vi har skannet Det Norske Misjonsselskaps andre årsberetning, publisert i Stavanger i 1844.
The library at School of Mission and Theology recently received some old books from Svein Nybø, Randaberg. In one of the books a card was found, containing the invitation to a week of devotional meetings for the Norwegian Missionary Society in Randaberg 1918.
Misjonshøgskolens bibliotek fikk nylig inn noen eldre bøker fra Svein Nybø, Randaberg. I en av bøkene dukket det opp et invitasjonskort til Det Norske Misjonsselskaps møteuke i Randaberg 1918.
Steinar Sola (b. 1946), MHS employee, is a philatelist. One of his interests is the collection of postcards. Recently, he came across and bought a card showing our school. The writer of the message on the card was Marius Bendik Nøkling, a student here 1909-1914.

In the archive collection from Erling Gilje (1894-1959), who served as ordained missionary for NMS in China 1919-1950, we have found a price list from "Scandinavian Trading Co." in Shanghai. It was issued in 1936, but corrections as of 1937 have been made by hand in blue ink.
A map published by Hunan Bible Institute before 1949 has until now been held at the library of our School of Mission and Theology. Now, the map has been transferred to the Mission Archives, and it is now available in digital format.
Rev. John Hoem, at the time dean of Stjørdal in Nidaros diocese, wrote an article in the NMS magazine Norsk Misjonstidende in May 1937. This article is one of the sources of our knowledge about burial places of NMS missionaries outside Norway. See attached PDF-file.
