MHS student

School of Mission and Theology (MHS)  is a specialized university offering studies in Christian studies, Science of Religion, Theology, Social science, Culture, globalisation and intercultural communication. 

MHS has students from more than 20 different countries. The following study programme will be lectured in English: Master in global studies, Master in Theology and PhD. All the other programmes will only we given for those how understand the Norwegian language.

The academic year at MHS starts in mid August and ends in mid June. We have divided the year in six terms. Each term consists of 7 weeks. The last week of each term is a week for exams. This gives us a huge flexibility for studies and exams.

Documentation of financing for self-financing applicants

Self-financing applicants from outside the EU/EEA area must document that they can finance their studies at School of Mission and Theology. The Norwegian Immigration Authorities requires that you can provide a minimum of NOK 87 600 (apprx. 10 600 euro). This is the minimum amount of money required to cover living expenses for one academic year in Norway and should be documented by enclosing a recent bank transcript. It is critical that you prove your financial means when you submit your application to the School of Mission and Theology.

The studies at MHS have been very useful. In my present job at the Police office in Stavanger I daily meet people from different parts of the world. I took both a bachelor and a master degree at MHS. I feel that my background has helped me a lot in my job in the Police.
